Lesson 34 How? Adjectives – 3

Today we are going to see about few adjectives in tamil. Below is a list of the Adjectives based on Quantity, Numbers and Age, in Tamil placed in a table.

 

Describing using quantity:

Quantity– Alavu

Examples:


Naveena veetle niraya thinpandangal irukkum. There is lots of snacks in Naveena’s house.
Naveena kitta oru chips packet irukku. Naveena has a pack of chips .
Adhule niraya chips irukku. There is a lot of chips in it.
Ava konjam chips-a thangaikku kudukiraa. She is giving some of it to her sister.

 

Rathikku dharboosani romba pidikkum. Rathi loves watermelon.
Ava oru muzhu pazhathai saapiduvaa. She would eat a whole fruit.
Ava ippo paadhi pazham saapitaachu. She has finished half of the fruit.
Innum oru arai pazham aval pakathule irukku. There is another half fruit beside her.


 


Idhu Ajay-oda semippu. This is Ajay’s savings.
Adhule sila rubaai note-um, konjam silarai-um irukku. A few notes and some change is there in it.
Adhule konjam mittaai vanga poraan. He is going to buy some candies it.

 


 

Naalaikku Palli-la aandu vizha. Tomorrow is the school annual day celebration.
Adhukku manavargal niraya nigazhchigal-a pangu edhukka poraanga. The students are going to take part in many programmes.
Sila pillainga adhukku vendiya padangal varaiyiraanga. Some children are drawings the pictures need for it.
Oru sila pillainga kankaatchi-kku model seiraanga. A few of them are making a model for the exhibition.
Veru sila maanavargal palli paadal payirchi seiraanga. A few other students are practising the school song.
Innum niraya nigazhchigal irukku. There are many more programmes.
Palli aandu vizhaa-la pangu edukira aththanai pillaigalukkum parisugal irukku. There is a gift for every student who takes part in the school velebration.

Avangalukku ore oru azhagaana ilavarasi irundhaa. They had a beautiful Princess.
Avangaloda padai-la oru maaveeran irundhaan. There was a knight in their army.
Avangalukku oru periya azhagaana aranmanai irundhadhu. They had a big beautiful palace.

 

Idhu thaan engaloda vilayaatu porulgal. These are our playthings/ toys.
Mudhal maadathle en akka-oda Barbie bommai irukku. My elder sister’s Barbie doll is on the first shelf.
Rendaavadhu maadam ennodadhu. Adhule ennoda robot irukku. The second shelf is mine. My robot is on it.
Kadaisi maadathle en thambi-oda vaaththu bommai irukku. My brother’s duck doll is on the last shelf.


 

Mel maadi-la oru padukkai araiyum, oru kuliyal araiyum irukku. There is a bedroom and a bathroom in the upper floor.
Moonaavadhu maadi-la oru chinna padikkum arai irukku.. There is a small reading room on the third floor.
Idhu Kamali-oda bommai veedu. This is Kamali’s doll house.
Keezh maadi-la oru vaazhum araiyum, oru samaiyal araiyum irukku. There is a living room and a kitchen in the lower floor/ story.

Avarum avar manaiviyum oru ilam thambathi maadhiri nadanam aaduvaanga. He and his wife would dance like a young couple.

 

En maama oru naveenamaana aaraaichiyaalar. My uncle is a modern researcher.
Aana avarukku pazhaiya kaalam patri aaraaichi seiya pidikkum. But he loves to study about the olden ages.
Ippo pandaiyaa Egypt pyramids patri padikka poraar. Now he is going to study about the ancient pyramids in Eqypt.
Avarukku thevaiyaana ella naveena karuvigalum avaroda petti-la irukku. All the modern tools he would need is in his suitcase.

Avar Tholai-pesi-a kandu pidichaar. He invented the telephone.
Andha kaalathle adhu oru naveenamaana kandupidippu. It was a modern invention in that age.
