In this lesson, we are learn some verbs. Let us begin with some actions that we do everyday.

These are some actions that we do at home.

Note : Every verb is given with a variation..Eg., Po – Ponga, Nada – Nadanga. The suffix –nga in the verb denotes two things.

  1. The verb has –nga, when it is about a peron of respect
  2. The verb has –nga, to denote the plural form of the noun who does the action.

Usage of –nga in the verbs

Geeta, paatukku nadanam aadu. (sing.) Geeta, dance to the music.

Geeta, Seeta nadanam aadunga.(plu.) Geeta, Seeta, dance to the music.

Vaanga, Neenga nadanam aadunga. Come on! You dance to the music.

Here are some examples..Try to do the ones given below.

 

Rosie, paadam padi. Rosie! read the lesson. Rakesh, Rajesh kadhai padinga. Rakesh, rajesh, read the story. Amma! engalukku kavidhai padinga. Mom! Read the poem for us.

Try to say the following in Tamil:

Conversation What do you do in the morning?

Dhinamum. (Daily/Everyday)
Neenga dhinamum kaalaiyil enna seiveenga? (What do you do in the morning?)
Naan dhinamum kaalaiyil ezhundirupen. (I wake up in the morning.)
Neenga dhinamum kaalaiyil seekramaa ezhundirupeengala? (Do you wake up early in the morning?)
Neenga kaalaiyil eththanai manikku ezhundirupeenga? (At what time do you wake up in the morning?)

Naan dhinamum paltheippen. (I brush my teeth everyday.)
Nammoda parkal/ pallu eppodhum suththama irukka vendum/ irukkanum. (Our teeth should always be clean.)
Naan dhinamum rendu murai pal theippen. (I brush my teeth twice daily.)
Nee dhinamum eththanai murai/thadavai pal theippe? ?(How many times do you brush your teeth?)

Neenga dhinamum udal payirchi seiveengala? (Do you exercise every morning?)
Naan dhinamum kaalaiyil udal payirchi seiven. (I exercise daily in the morning.)
Naama kattaayam udal payirchi seiyenum. (We should exercise.)
Naan dhinamum kaalaiyil kulippen. (I take bath in the morning.)
Neenga dhinamum kaalaiyil kulipeengala? (Do you take bath in the morning?)
Naam dhinamum kulikka vendum. (We must bathe daily.)
Dhinam kulipadhu oru arokiyamaana pazhakkam. (Taking bath every daily is a healthy habit.)

Naan dhinamum suththamaana udaigal/ thunigal poduven. (I wear clean dress everyday.)
Dhinamum suththamaana udai poda vendum. (We should wear clean clothes daily.)
kaalai unavu saapiduven. (I eat my breakfast in the morning without fail.)
Saththulla unavu saapida vendum. (We have to eat healthy food.)
Saththulla unavu udambukku nalladhu. (A healthy meal is good for our body.)
Pazhangalum Kaaigalum nam udambukku saththu tharum. (Fruits and Vegetables gives strength to our body.)
Naan suththamaana seerudai/ uniform poduven. (I wear clean uniform everyday.)
Nee pallikku seerudai/ uniform poduveeya? ? (Do you wear a uniform to school?)
Naan ippo pallikku poren. (Now I am going to school.)
Naan pallikku thavaraamalpoven. (I go to school, without fail.)
Poiyittu varen, nanbargale(friends). (Bye, friends!)

Try to answer the questions:

Nee enna seira? Appa enna seiraaru? Geeta enna seiraa? Thambi enna seiraan?

Thavaraamal – Without fail
Poyittu varen – A phrase used like the ‘Bye’

Reading Comprehension

Naanga aindhu/anju perumnanbargal. Engaloda veedugal malai mele irukku.

Engaloda amma, appa elaarum, veetla irukaanga. Naanga ellarum veetukku pakathula irukka oru idathukku vandirukkom.

Inge azhagaana marangalum, pul tharaiyum irukku.

Naanga ippo oru marathukku keezhe utkaarndhu irukkom. Naanga oru paai mela utkaarndhu irukkom.

Naanga saapaadu kondu vandhu irukkom. Andha saapaada naanga ellarum serndhu saapidurom.

Engalukku pazhangal, kaaigal saapida pidikkum.

Naanga inga saththulla saapadu saapidurom.Suththamaana kaatra swasikirom.

En thangai kaiyila oru burger irukku.

Ruchi kaiyila avaloda tiffin box irukku. Adhula suvaiyaana saapaadu irukku.
