Tamil Muttram is a new monthly online initiative from iLearnTamil, bringing together NRI Tamil children from all over the world to connect with their language, culture, and roots.
This is not a class or a formal competition. It is a fun, relaxed, and lively Zoom gathering where children can meet new friends, interact, laugh, share their talents, play games, and enjoy Tamil through exciting activities and surprises.
Every month, Tamil Muttram will bring children from different countries together to celebrate Tamil, build friendships across borders, and keep our beautiful language alive for the next generation.
Our mission is simple: Bringing Tamil-speaking children around the world together and making Tamil fun for the next generation!

What is Tamil Muttram?
In Tamil homes, the muttram (courtyard) was where children gathered to talk, laugh, play and learn from each other. Tamil Muttram brings that courtyard online for children growing up outside India.
Once a month, kids from different countries meet online. We give them a topic, and they share their thoughts, stories and ideas in Tamil. There are fun games in every session too, so children enjoy speaking Tamil instead of feeling it’s another class.

Enakku Piditha Kural – My Favourite Thirukkural
Children can choose any Thirukkural they love and come ready to recite it and tell everyone what it means to them. Short or long, simple or deep, every kural is welcome!

What Happens at Tamil Muttram?
No preparation is required!
Activities will be announced on the spot and may include fun conversations, unexpected questions, acting, music, stories, quick challenges, and plenty of surprises.
